Jenna Spevack

Jenna Spevack is a Brooklyn-based artist, designer, and educator. Her projects and practices explore how interactions with and connections to local ecological systems support resilience in the shifting natural-social-political landscapes.

Her recent and past works have been shown in one-person and group exhibitions at Mixed Greens, BRIC House Gallery, Smack Mellon Gallery, Hendershot Gallery; Sanlun Yishu, Beijing, Mucius Galéria, Budapest, White Columns, Art in General, Monya Rowe Gallery, Arts Center of the Capital Region, Troy, NY, Albright Knox Gallery, Buffalo, and Panorama City, Zurich, among others. She has been awarded residencies at Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, MacDowell Colony, Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Blue Mountain Center, Fundacion Valparaiso, I-Park, Platte Clove, and Estonian Artist’s Association, and grants from New York City Department of Cultural Affairs and PSCCUNY Research Foundation, among others.

Her work has been recognized in publications, including The New York Times, WABC News, The Daily News, CUNY Channel, New York Arts, and more.
Jenna is also an Associate Professor of Creative Media and Co-Director of OpenLab at NYC College of Technology, CUNY. She has developed programs in Emerging and Interactive Media and has taught courses in web design, animation, digital illustration, and design foundations.
