FOAM is an open source spatial protocol built on the Ethereum blockchain. The protocol adds a monetization layer to open source mapping which opens new geospatial markets of exchange. FOAM allows to build geospatial applications that are connected to verifiable crowdsourced addresses on the blockchain.

With FOAM, locations will have digital identities. Space generates data—energy data, foot traffic, consumer activity, financial performance, real estate metrics etc. The FOAM protocol is enabling the capture, storage, and processing of this data and attributes supported by a decentralized economical incentive structure. The FOAM protocol leverages the blockchain for identity of location data.
