Program Manager

New Lab supports entrepreneurs who are defining the future of technology and human experience. Based in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, New Lab provides the tools and community that unite and support 650+ innovative entrepreneurs, designers, and engineers representing over 130 companies in a variety of fields—including robotics, A.I., urban technology, and energy—and fosters collaboration and advancement across disciplines. 

New Lab is seeking a Program Manager to join the Products and Programs team to support the delivery of highly valuable, well designed and flawlessly executed programs. This role will operate specific programs and offerings we deliver to our important stakeholders including our valuable network of member companies and entrepreneurs, our corporate partners, government agencies and academic institutions. The Program Manager will support New Lab programs by being the operational lead for a multi-year Studio, project managing individual product development sprints and executing specific enterprise-focused workshops. 

Candidates should have prior experience working in public-private partnerships or operating innovation programs that are at the intersection of entrepreneurs and enterprise, investor, and public stakeholders. Additionally, prior technical exposure, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing space, or demonstrated aptitude in these sectors through academic work or adjacent professional experience is critical. 


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Operations: You will work collaboratively across functions to create a strong partnership with sales, membership, marketing, operations and finance to deliver multi-year studios, support the delivery of product development sprints and enterprise-focused workshops. Taking inputs from program partners and working with relevant New Lab departments you will lead the operations of projects by building the ecosystem of entrepreneurs, academics and experts to participate in the programs and workshops. Additionally you will partner with the Business Development team to grow interest and additional sponsorship for programs.
  • Reporting: Develop timelines, key milestones, project management system and client reporting structures for each program you are involved with. Take the lead on day-to-day client and participant management in order to effectively reach milestones, anticipate challenges, manage strategy based on learnings, ensure alignment and engage leadership as needed. 
  • Ecosystem Expertise: You will stay up to date on industry trends relevant to the program areas you are engaged in and engage with the relevant ecosystems in NYC and globally which are points of interest and opportunity. You will provide insights to the Product and Programs team and ensure we leverage insights to deliver high caliber programs to our clients. 



  • 4+ years of operational experience in innovation or government programs or equivalent 
  • Strong track record of working with government, corporate and/or entrepreneurs in multi-stakeholder programs 
  • Experienced at managing stakeholders with diverse needs and understanding how to adapt message and style depending on audience 
  • Experience or exposure to an engineering, manufacturing, or technical field 
  • Familiarity with Google’s business tools (docs, team drives, slides, sheets etc) and project management tools such as Trello and Monday
